Kristinn Hermannsson

Kristinn Hermannsson is Senior Lecturer in Educational Economics at the School of Education of the University of Glasgow. His ongoing research examines inequality in access to education and inequality in labour market outcomes, in particular social origin pay gaps. He is also working on analysing spatial inequality in the development of tertiary education and the role of diverse skills in refugee migration and integration. Previously he has published on estimating macroeconomic impacts of education, as encompassing market and non-market, public and private effects, using Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models to simulate the links between education and the wider economy, in both low- and high-income countries. Born and raised in the Westfjords of Iceland, he has conducted research in Europe and Africa.
