Jean Paul Baldacchino is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Malta. He teaches several courses on religion, ethnicity, psychoanalysis, emotions and embodiment and symbols from an anthropological and psychodynamic perspectives. He has conducted fieldwork and published research on South Korea, Australia and the Mediterranean. He is currently the Director of the Mediterranean Institute and Head of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Malta. He is also currently the General Editor of Journal of Mediterranean Studies (ISSN: 1016-3476) and a member of the editorial board of The Australian Journal of Anthropology. He is a fellow of the Australian Anthropology Society and a registered analyst-in-training with the Australian Centre for Psychoanalysis.
