Laura Mentini

From Italy

Laura Mentini is a PhD student in Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain); her current research, financed by “La Caixa” foundation and conducted within an international ERC project, deals with school autonomy and accountability policies in Italy. Before undertaking her PhD journey, she specialized in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED Erasmus Mundus Master), and worked as a trainee in the European Commission (Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture), supporting the priorities and coordination of Erasmus+ international programmes. She has always been passionate about education and development in a broad sense and at different levels; she has a background in International affairs and cooperation, previously worked as a consultant in the UN FAO agency (Rome) and collaborated with local NGOs and in developing contexts.
